Grateful Grahams Collaboration

Have you heard of Grateful Grahams? These delicious Vegan Treats are based out of Covington, KY just across the river from us. Little known fact: Owners Rachel and Jim DesRochers are residents of Mt. Lookout! There has seemed to be an uprising of Vegan customers at Buona Terra lately, so we wanted to collaborate with another local small business to show our appreciation for you, and teach non-vegans that Vegan treats can be delicious too!  Keep your ears out as we will be releasing more details about this collaboration soon.

We have a fresh batch of French Macarons on display right now.  The flavors we are currently featuring are White Chocolate Lavender, Pistachio, and Chocolate.  Did you know there's a difference between a macaroon and a macaron?

Roasted Pear Gelato - Buona Terra Cincinnati

It's pear picking season. So our Pastry Chef Amanda is out at her grandparents farm in Brown County, Ohio picking the freshest Pears she can find.  With these gems we decided to roast them to make a lovely Roasted Pear Gelato. Lions and Tigers and PEARS! Rosemary-Infused Pear Sorbetto - Buona Terra Cincinnati

Our Pastry Chef Amanda got Pears galore from her Grandpa's farm in Brown County, Ohio. Pear is one of our favorite fall flavors, so we've been busy putting all these pears to use! We've come up with a few different ideas that have turned out beautifully. One of them is Rosemary-infused Pear Sorbetto which is featured in the bottom photograph. Come in to try out this unique, but delicious combination!

Mt. Lookout Fall Festival deal - 1 day only!

Cool segment about our friends from Holtman's Donuts

As you know, we have partnered with Holtman's Donuts on different occasions to offer the one and only Gelato Donut Sandwich!  We are so happy for Holtman's and the cool things they are doing. They just recently appeared on the the Cooking Channel for the Donut Showdown, and were also featured on this cool segment a while back. Homemade Cones in the house!

We are happy to announce that we are now offering homemade waffle cones! You've been asking, we've been listening and we finally perfected our recipe.  One of our most frequent customers is Emma and her dad Mike. These cones are Emma tested, Emma approved. She had one last night and begged Dad to come back for another tonight! 

Wine & Gelato Pairing on October 25th

Come join us for a unique tasting experience at Unwind Wine Bar in Hyde Park. We will be serving up some of our favorite seasonal gelato and sorbetto flavors, and Unwind will be pairing their favorite seasonal wines with them. We are really excited to announce that we are making a Hard Apple Cider Sorbetto for this event. Be one of the first people to try it out!

Mexican Chocolate Gelato

Avocado Gelato!?

Yes, you read that right, Avocado Gelato! This gelato is a lower calorie, lower sugar option if you are health conscious. This idea of adding avocado to gelato or ice cream isn't a new creation either, many recipes in Mexico and Asia incorporate avocado into their desserts. Come see what all the fuss is about by tasting this unique treat.

One of our top favorites is a Sweet Crepe we like to call Grandma's Kitchen. This crepe has caramelized baked honey crisp apples, pecans, & caramel sauce. Cones are coming, and we were featured on a blog!

You've been asking, and we've been listening... and they are coming! We have been working on our recipe for homemade waffle cones for most of the summer and we are going to be adding them to our menu soon. We'll keep you posted on the date we will be rolling these babies out. 

Something really awesome also came about when we asked one of our blogger friends to taste test our cones, so we could perfect our recipe.... she wrote about us on her blog! Check it out! 

Fall Wine and Gelato Pairing at Unwind Wine Bar!

We are partnering up with Unwind Wine Bar of Hyde Park for another Wine & Gelato Pairing! This is always a great event for us, as it's a unique tasting experience for the community and a chance for us to work with another small business in Cincinnati. This time we are going with fall flavors! Our flavor options are as follows:

-Tiramisu Gelato

-Apple Cider Sorbetto

-Pumpkin Spice Gelato

-Fig, Honey, and Goat Cheese Gelato

Mt. Lookout Fall Festival on October 19th

Last year we had the pleasure of experiencing our first Mount Lookout Fall Festival. This is a great event that brings the community together for a free, fun afternoon. 

Here's a message from the Mount Lookout Community Council regarding this year's fall festival:

We will have the same traditional events for the kids including the giant bouncy castle, face painting, corn hole, cupcake walk, and a costume contest since it is right before Halloween. Again this year, we will have Fronkensteen playing live music during the day along with these other great activities. Adult beverages will also be for sale; hotdogs, pop and water will be free for this historically beautiful and sunny, October day. 

Norwood Farmer's Market

Saturday, October 18th we will be participating in the Norwood Farmer's Market! This market will follow a 5k in the Norwood neighborhood. The Farmer's Market will take place on the corner of Williams and Elsmere, where the traffic will be blocked off.  Come check out local produce growers, and grab some dessert. After all, if you're running the 5k, you will certainly deserve it!

We'll be at the 513 City Flea for the first time this coming Saturday, October 11th from 10am-4pm! Come check out this unique urban flea market at Washington Park in Downtown Cincinnati.  We'll be serving up Gelato and our famous French Macarons.  You can find more info here.

It's that time!  Leaves are falling, the temperatures are dropping, and we are experimenting with our favorite fall flavors.  So far our favorite Fall Gelato flavors we have made are S'mores, Chai Tea, and Pumpkin Spice.  Come get in the spirit and try one of them today!
