What exactly is an Affogato?
If you like coffee and gelato, this is a marriage made in heaven! The word Affogato literally means drowned in Italian. The idea is to take a scoop of gelato, typically vanilla, and drown it in Espresso. Top that with home-made biscotti and you are in for a real treat. Many people have asked us over the years about adding an Affogato to the menu, and we took our time doing it because we wanted to find the right coffee to accompany our Gelato. We are so happy to have found an Artisan Roasterie right in Cincinnati who is just as passionate about doing things the traditional Italian way as we are. We are happy to announce that our Affogato wouldn't be possible without the help of La Terza Artisan Coffee in Clifton.
